Kharagpur College Proficiency award is given to the students every year for excellent performances in academic fields, Games and Sports, NCC, NSS and cultural activities at the College Foundation Day Celebration Ceremony.
Football and Cricket: Apart from the Annual games and Sports Meet, the most played games are football and cricket. Many students take part and relish in playing cricket and football. With their great endeavor, praiseworthy skills and true sportsman spirits, they have won intercollege tournaments in the district as well as outside of the district. Our college students have hoarded many trophies and medals by winning different tournaments at different levels. The students of Kharagpur College are well known for Games and Sports and have earned a name in the district for playing both football and cricket. A few glimpses of their achievements are displayed below-
Annual Sports Meet : Annual Sports Meet: The Sports Meet, which is an integral part of our institution is organized every year in association with the Students’ Union. Principal of the College inaugurates the events and inspires the young talents to be more enthusiastic and sportive with his valuable and motivational speech. Almost all types of Sports and Games are organized for both the boys and the girls. As a consequence we can proudly announce that our young talents are well known to every nook and corner of the sporting fields. The Games and Sports are organized on the big playground of our college. The Players also undergo through regular practice on our college playground with zeal of success and achievements. The Games and Sports in which the students take part are shown as follows-
High Jump (For both Boys and Girls), Long Jump (For both Boys and Girls), 100 meter Race (For both Boys and Girls), 200 meter Race (For both Boys and Girls): Almost all the students both boys and girls take part in the Annual Sports Meet to make it a grand success. Prizes are given away among the champions and runners by the honourable Principal and other dignitaries on the final day of the Sports Meet.
